Funky Pickle Miami Open Presented by Battier Take Charge Foundation

Our first Funky Pickle Miami Open was held Saturday, April 1st at the Biltmore Miami Coral Gables Hotel and Resort. It was a day filled with food, fun, and fierce competition—all culminating in the crowning of our Miami Open pickleball champions.

The all-day event kicked off with preliminary rounds of our bracket-style tournament, which were followed by playoffs, commentated by real pro-pickleballers. E11even Vodka kept the mood light with their special cocktail menu in the E11even Vodka Player’s Lounge and VIP section, where attendees also had the best spots in the house to check out the action across multiple courts. In between games, players and attendees kept their energy levels high with snacks and lunch from Cienfuegos Coffee, Food Dudes, Z Cocina and Kona Ice - tacos, truffle fries, cookies, and snow cones were some of the most popular offerings. And since we know hydration is key for any event in Miami, we are so thankful to have had Path Water, Sidelight Wines and The Tank Brewery provide us with beverages!

The post-championship raffle, run by some of the incredible Battier Take Charge students, was a huge success. One lucky winner got to go home with a basket of swag fit for Tom Ford himself! With a live band, fun presentations, and the opportunity to learn from top professional pickleballers, there was truly something for everyone at the Funky Pickle Miami Open. Plans are in the works to bring this fun event back even bigger and better next year, and we hope to see you all there!”
